On 4 April 2012, three Old Hickory Association members and a friend of ours (who also reenacts World War II) were invited to Franklinton Elementary School in Franklinton, North Carolina, by the faculty, to teach the children a little about American military history.  One OHA member represented a Vietnam-era U.S. Army infantry rifleman, another OHA member represented a Vietnam-era U.S. Army infantry medic, our friend represented a World War II-era U.S. Army parachute infantry Browning Automatic Rifle gunner, and I represented a World War II-era U.S. Army infantry rifleman.
